PLATEAU STATE GOVERNMENT SPENT N11 BILLION NAIRA ON COVID-19

The Plateau State Government has said, it has spent N11 billion on COVID-19 in the state for free medical services for patients of the virus.

The Plateau State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Dan Manjang who made this known to newsmen yesterday that so far 25 persons reportedly die of COVID-19 in the state, with Plateau state now epicentre in Nigeria. 

Mr. Manjang said, “Government also assured its citizens of its utmost support and used the opportunity to call on them to continue to observe the COVID-19 protocols of hand washing with soap, use of certified sanitizers, wearing of face masks and maintaining social distancing.”

The Commissioner also said, the state government have pay over N2.5 billion monthly salaries for state civil servants despite the economy condition of the country, the Lalong administration will not delay in payment of salaries of civil servants, and the state government will bring in friendly programmes that will foster improvement in the civil service. 

He finally added, the administration will continue to complete unfinished projects of the past administrations in the state.
