Lalong Directs Immediate Payment Of Salaries To Local Government And Primary School Workers Amidst Negotiations On The Implementation Of The New Minimum Wage.

Plateau state governor, Simon lalong has directed the immediate payment of salaries to workers at the local government and primary school level amidst negotiations  on the implementation of the new minimum wage.

This was contained in a press release  signed by the commissioner of the ministry for local government and chieftancy affairs, SD TAPGUN.

The statement says Governor Lalong who appreciated  Labour  in the state for their understanding  assured of his administration's commitment  to ensure industrial harmony despite lean resources. 

The statement also notes that Governor  Lalong has  convened an emergency meeting of relevant stakeholders to address the implementation of minimum  wage and decried the hardship workers  at the local government and primary school level  have had to endure.

It says the meeting was attended  by the Speaker and Principal officers of the Plateau state House of Assembly,  top Government appointees, chairmen of the 17 local government Councils and members of the joint negotiating Council.
