CONDOLENCES TO THE MISHIP CHIEFDOM AND THE PANKSHIN/KANKE JOINT TRADITIONAL COUNCIL It is with great Sadness that I learnt of the demise of the revered Long Miship and acting President of the Pankshin and Kanke Joint Traditional Council Nda Wesley Mullak (lll). Nda was a remarkable King who dedicated his life to the betterment of the people of Chip Chiefdom and the wellbeing of others within his domain without discrimination as to their status, ethnicity or religious persuasion for about 44 years while on the throne. He devoted his Life and worked tirelessly for the improvement of the life of his people. Nda’s wise Leadership Counsels and graciousness will always be remembered. KWANAN MACHIJI ROAD: PANKSHIN LGC CHAIRMAN JOHN DAMAP PRAISED FG FOR AVERTING IMPENDING DANGER. The Executive Chairman of Pankshin Local Government Council, John Damap has commended the Federal Ministry of Works for its quick intervention for the repairs of the popular kwanan machiji road along Panyam-Shendam road which part of it has been washed away by erosion. It was learnt that the state of the road has been a source of concerned to motorist plying the road.

PLATEAU STATE GOVERNMENT SPENT N11 BILLION NAIRA ON COVID-19

The Plateau State Government has said, it has spent N11 billion on COVID-19 in the state for free medical services for patients of the virus. The Plateau State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Dan Manjang who made this known to newsmen yesterday that so far 25 persons reportedly die of COVID-19 in the state, with Plateau state now epicentre in Nigeria.  Mr. Manjang said, “Government also assured its citizens of its utmost support and used the opportunity to call on them to continue to observe the COVID-19 protocols of hand washing with soap, use of certified sanitizers, wearing of face masks and maintaining social distancing.” The Commissioner also said, the state government have pay over N2.5 billion monthly salaries for state civil servants despite the economy condition of the country, the Lalong administration will not delay in payment of salaries of civil servants, and the state government will bring in friendly programmes that will foster improvement in the civil service....

ENCOMIUM AS GAGDI BAGS RATTAWU HUMANITY AWARDSThe sterling leadership qualities of Rt Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi, the member representing Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives was in the spotlight on Friday 28th August, 2020 as Plateau State Chapter of the Radio and Theater Arts Workers Union (RATTAWU) honored the quintessential lawmaker with their prestigious 'Humanity Award' in recognition of his people centred representation as a federal lawmaker in the past one year that he has been in the National Assembly.Presenting the award at a well attended ceremony at the National Film Institute, Jos Chairman of the association said the choice of Gagdi to be honoured with the award was necessitated by his people oriented representation in the provision of dividends of democracy, which has impacted positively on his constituents within his short stay at the National Assembly, and further accentuated by the indisputable evidence of his efforts at advancing the course of humanity through adequate representation in appropriate quarters. Adding that RATTAWU in Plateau state is also a beneficiary of the lawmaker's magnanimity.RATTAWU is a recognized body of media and cultural workers, which was established as the 25th affiliate trade union with the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) on first November 1977. The body comprises Radio and TV presenters, producers, film distributors, workers in Music industry, Arts Councils, operators of cinemas and allied services amongst others.Present at the event were the Deputy Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. DIRECTOR OF FINANCE OF PANKSHIN LGC MANGAI NYANKWON HAS TASKS THE OUTGOING STAFF OF HIS DEPARTMENT TO BE FOCUS IN THEIR NEW STATIONS

The Director of finance and supply of the Pankshin Local Government Council, Mangai Nyankwon has made a renewed call to staff of his department who were affected in the recent transfer by the Plateau state Local Government Service Commission to show a high level of courtesy in their interactions with members of the public in their new stations. Nyankwon made the call while bidding farewell to the outgoing staff of his department in his office. The Director charged them not to rest on their oars but continue to exhibit high sense of responsibility, commitment to duty and unalloyed loyalty to the growth of the civil service in the state. While commending the staff for contributing their wealth of experiences to the development of Pankshin Local Government Council.
