GRA Community In Pankshin lga embarks On Self Help Project
Residents of GRA in Pankshin Local Government Area have embarked on the rehabilitation of some streets in the area.
In a chart with our reporter, the chairman GRA phase-1, Parks Jings, explained that they embarked on the project in other to ease the hardship experiencing by motorists and commuters plying the road most especially during rainy season.
Mr Jings noted that the money used for the project is from the individuals contribution within them, haven done the electrification of the area.
According to him this is a Government Reserve Area, phase-1 which is supposed to be the responsibility of the government to construct the road, but the community decided to embarked on the communal effort in order to complement government efforts in improving on the socio-economic activities and reduce the plight of residents plying it, as government cannot do everything alone for its people.
On his part, the Mhiskaham Chip of Pankshin-Kanke local government areas, Chief PY Ishaya, says the road if constructed will improve on the health condition of the people as well as fast track development to the area. He lauded youths of the area for turning out in large number to support the project.
Speaking on behalf of the youths, Comrade Muleng Jurdima, appealed for more government presence in the area, especially on infrastructural development to improve their standard of living. Promising that youths of the area will continue to support government at all levels to enable them deliver more dividends of democracy to their people.
Comrade Muleng appealed to the government to assist them by constructing the roads and culverts in order to boost economic activities in the area.
