*PDP CRISIS ON THE PLATEAU: LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL AS EFFORTS COMMENCE TO ENFORCE COURT DECISIONS*

Notwithstanding the intransigence of desperadoes to continue to parade themselves as State executives thereby undermining valid court judgments and orders variously granted by Courts of competent jurisdictions across Plateau State, it is becoming increasingly clear that they may have reached the end of the road.

While they continue to mislead their unsuspecting party faithful that they have filed an appeal, credible sources say legal luminaries drawing lessons from similar litigations in some state chapters of the PDP have suggested that they should allow a neutral Caretaker Committee to take over or the opposing legal team could file a contempt of court against them. Another credible sources also indicate that relevant government ministries, departments and security agencies who have been duly served with the court judgment/order may have since derecognized them.

The continued disregard for the pronouncements of competent courts of jurisdiction is said to have irked constituted authorities and other well meaning Nigerians at this flagrant disregard to court judgements, and freely unpunished, because the judiciary remains the last hope of a common man. The Nigerian judiciary has sufficiently demonstrated competence in handling issues of political dispute in the country including resolving cases that inflicted incalculable damage, the ruling party following its impunity and imposition in Zamfara, Rivers and Bayelsa States.

The law cannot tolerate any form sacrilege and abominable disregard for the rule of law, no persons or group of persons masquerading as politicians can continue to undermine valid pronouncements of the courts of competent jurisdictions.
We are not in a banana republic,  therefore the continued disregard of lawful court orders must be regard as an act of mutiny against the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Law and should be dealt with accordingly.

In any case, the National headquarters has since accepted to abide with the court judgments and orders in the circumstances, no form of reconciliation can be contemplated other than for a neutral State Caretaker Committee to be constituted. All well-meaning and law abiding members of the PDP on the Plateau are looking forward to a takeover by men of credible character who should be given 90 days as provided by the PDP Constitution and as recommended by Gov Samuel Ortom of Benue. This will pave the way for the conduct of proper Congresses and return of peace in the party in Plateau State.

Nothing short of a properly constituted State Caretaker Committee is expected from the National headquarters of our party at the moment, which is long overdue and can create another leadership lacuna if not properly handle.

By virtue of and the combined effect of the landmark Judgment delivered by His Lordship Justice Gang on 26th, November 2020 setting aside the kangaroo state Congresses of 29th August 2020, the Court Order granted by Justice Boniface Angyo of the Plateau State high court Pankshin Division, setting aside the same purported Congresses, the judgment delivered by Justice Kunda of the state high court Jos and the judgments against PDP by a state high court of Shendam division declaring as null and void any purported Ward Executives of Yelwa Shendam, as far as the law is concern there was no State Congress on 29th August 2020 invariably therefore there’s no validly constituted State EXCO for the PDP on the Plateau and indeed in some LGA like Jos North, Kanam and Shendam,Bokkos,Kanke,Jos South, and am still counting. Many other similar litigations are pending in the court of law.

We call on all our elected representatives and political office holders at various levels of government to remain neutral in discharge of their duties without fear or favour, our respect for the offices they occupy remains unshakable dispate all ought.

We wish to once again comment the doggedness exhibited by our Senatorial candidate at the just concluded Southern zone bye-elections RT Hon George Daika, for the good outing, despite the presence of persons who's sole aim was to take advantage of the election for self enrichment, they see politics as a means of self aggrandizement hence the crumbled desperation to become state executives, both as Caretaker and substantives.

We remain confident, unshakable and resolute that it cannot work that way.
